ABOUT US

Americans on average buy 2,300,000 pairs of shoes a day - enough to cover the bottom of a 17-acre closet with shoe boxes. Americans also throw away at least 300 million pairs of used shoes which are in “good condition” each year. Over 50% of African children attend school without shoes each year. FootPrints International is committed to raising awareness about the global shoe and school supply disparities. FootPrints International collects gently used shoes from our communites and provides them to youth and adults in need in underprivileged countries. Additionally FootPrints International runs educational material donation drives to collect school supplies for the needy.

We have sent aid to communities in Cameroon, South Africa, Ecaduor, Nigeria, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Ghana, and United States  (West Virginia, New Jersey, New York). This aid is enabling youth to avoid foot diseases and walk longer distances to attend school, while giving them the tools they need to pursue their educational goals. Adults and the elderly will be able to walk longer distances to search for a living to help support their families. The simple gift of a new or gently used pair of comfortable walking shoes and school supplies will help to prevent debilitating infections and other health complications, and will also enhance educational opportunities for underprivileged children.
